SED’s Starcast modulator product line supports full-featured DVB-S2, DVB-S and Broadcom Turbo compliant satellite modulators. Starcast models are available that support all three modes or any subset of these modes.
For DVB-S2, Starcast supports CCM and VCM /ACM and all constellations from QPSK to 32APSK, at signal rates up to 45Mbaud. Multiple streams for VCM/ACM applications can be fed into the modulator via 4 DVB-ASI input ports.
All Starcast models include IF and L-band outputs as well as input and output signal monitoring ports. The convenient front and rear panel Ethernet ports provide easy access to the user interface using any standard web browser. An SNMP-based monitor and control interface is provided for connection to external management systems.
The modulator design is firmware based and is very flexible in accommodating additional modulation, encoding or other requirements.
