A key element of SED's project management philosophy is a strong, experienced project manager who has full responsibility, accountability, and authority for all aspects of a project. The project manager is supported by project management systems that provide for full monitoring and control of all project activities through computer-aided scheduling, planning, and cost control systems such as PRIMAVERA. The effective control of work is ensured through four essential steps:
- establishing clear responsibilities and expectations
- incrementally authorizing work against clear descriptions of that work
- monitoring the progress of the work
- reporting the status of the project both to the customer and to senior management within SED.
As a systems integrator, SED also has extensive experience in subcontract management. We routinely subcontract portions of project requirements including major subsystems and hardware or software development. Our capabilities in successfully managing these subcontracts are enhanced by forming long-term partnerships with our key suppliers.
